Shirley took the Are you romantic? quiz and the result is:
Your sweetheart is your everything when you two are together, and with that feeling comes to do almost everything for them. You're a firey one, and without a doubt, that fire keeps things interesting.

Forget his name
Forget his face
Forget his love
His warm embrace

Forget the love that you once knew
Remember that he has someone new
Forget him when they play your song
Remember when you cried all nite long
Forget how close you two once were
Remember he has chosen her

Forget you have memorised his walks
Forget the way he used to talk
Forget the things he used to say
Remember he has gone away

Forget his laughter
Forget his grin
Forget the dimples on his cheek
Forget the way he held you tight
Remember he's with her tonite

Forget the time that went so fast
Forget the love that moved it's past
Forget that he'd leave you never
Remember that he's gone forever

Planning for tour in Germany

As 2/3 of my graduation trip is taken care by the tour group, I will only need to plan the itinerary for our remaining time in Germany. I am in charge of Berlin and Dresden. We are still considering whether to go down all the way to Munich.

Anyway, for our time in Berlin, here's the plan:

Food we must try include traditional Berlin meatballs, currywurst (sausage with a curry sauce), Eisben (pork knuckle), Berliner Weisse (specialty beer)~! OoO.. Thinking about them makes me drool~!!!

Day 1:
According to reserach and advice from my German textbook, we can get a good overview of Berlin's central district easily and at a budget by taking public double decker bus 100.

The bus runs from Zoologischer Garten train station to Alexanderplatz train station. Not too sure where we will start off since we have not confirmed hostel stay yet. So I can only come up with places to visit for now. Well, I doubt my mum and brother would want to visit the zoological garden.

So first, we will pass by the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche (Emperor Wilhelm II Memorial Church), a neo-Romanesque church built from 1891 to 1895 but heavily destroyed during World War II.

Next, we will pass by the "Elefantentor" (Elephant-Portal),

the “Bauhaus-Archiv” (Museum of Design). We shall visit Tiergarten, the central park of Berlin where we will find the Victory Column, erected to commemorate Prussian victories of 1864, 1866 and 1871. If mom is game, we might want to climb 285 steps up the column to have a spectacular view over the central district of Berlin.

We shall also visit the “Haus der Kulturen der Welt” (House of World Cultures) at bus stop 16, which is an art institution presenting art exhibitions, concerts, films and academic conferences on non-European art and culture. It is also known as "the pregnant oyster".

At bus stop 19, we must visit the Reichstag, a must visit attraction according to my German teacher.

Then, we will walk a few minutes to the Brandenburg Gate - symbol of Berlin.

At stop 22, we shall visit the most famous avenue in Berlin – Unter den Linden. The avenue is at the heart of the historic section. It connects Pariser Platz and Bebelplatz, crossing Schlossbrücke (palace bridge), Lustgarten and Museum Island. So I believe we can spend most of our time here.

Perhaps we will also go pass the current main building of the Humboldt University as above.

My brother will probably be interested in the Bebelplatz, best known as the site of the book burning ceremony held on May 10, 1933 by the Nazis.

We might also want to visit the old Arsenal, prided to be one of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in Berlin. It hosts the new permanent exhibition of the German Historical Museum.

O I really want to visit the palace bridge between the Arsenal and the Berlin Cathedral. It's super pretty as seen below.

(Foto: Tobias Kneschke/Berlin.de)

On the Museum Island, we can visit one of the museums which my German teacher made us research on during the course - The Altes Museum (Old Museum).

(Foto: Tobias Kneschke/Berlin.de)

There is also the Berlin Cathedral on the Museum Island.

The bus route ends on Alexanderplatz where we can visit the tallest building in Germany - The Berlin Television Tower standing at 368m.

From research, it was found that the entire ride from Zoologischer Garten train station to Alexanderplatz is only about half an hour. If we want to return to the starting point, we could just take the same bus in the opposite direction or take the S-Bahn.

Finally, we could do some window shopping at KaDaWe, one of the largest and most exclusively stocked shopping centres in Europe.

In late june to early July, festivals like Open-Air Saison (opera festival held on outdoor stages) and Landshuter Hochzeit (re-enactment of wedding feast of Georg, son of Duke Ludwig and the Rich and Polish Princess Jadwiga) are said to be worth catching.

Making baby steps towards my dream

This is my new addiction: http://bebeempire.blogspot.com/

While not bothered about the blog skin, I am trying to structure my blog with things I like to include before beautifying it.

Why do I call it Bebe's Empire?
I started out this blog because I would like to write about my life with bebe. It also ties in with my dream, having an empire of business related to dogs, pets and animals. This new blog is dedicated to things about Bebe and my other interesting interactions with other dogs.

Wonder what else I can add.

Random

last 24h as a NUS student but i am not happy at all...
yeah it's a relief from all the tiring and demanding exams..
but graduating in 2009 is equivalent to being retrenched for most of us...
still i hope.. i can find a job I love..
a challenging and fulfilling job...
sth i look forward to everyday...

went for gathering with the tk softballers yesterday though exams arent over yet...
a lil guilty i guess..
but i am glad to see all my team mates again...
softball memories are probably the most precious in my 22+ years of life..
i was a champion...
i was a leader...
i was a fighter...
i was a sister...
i was a daughter...

glad to see coach was well and recovering..
couldnt help to be a lil over sensitive...
i tot i saw tears in her eyes...
she's like my 2nd mother...
so afraid that she'll leave us one day...
i pray that she's remain healthy and bubbly as ever...

3 years of relationships hasnt been easy...
so many quarrels..
so many break ups..
still.. it comes down to trust and faith...
change is the onli constant in life..
it's how a couple tackle it together, compromise and adjust to necessary changes that makes a relationship work..
i never believed that anything can disrupt a relationship if it was strong in the first place..
how steady r we?
it doesnt seem to look good...
4 mths has passed n i have lost count of the times we've quarreled..
trying to hold on... trying to keep my faith in u n in me...
but who's there to support me, who's there to direct me at cross roads like this?
Who's there to hold me?

Planning for Holiday

4 years of school life in NUS has sorta made me a bumble bee who cant seem to settle down and slack for a long time..
the whole reading week was quite torturing..
with one module to study for, I find myself having quite a lot of time to slacken off..
in the beginning, i was enjoying my free time after all the late nights for project work..
but this did not last for a long time..
graduating from nus, i find myself jobless...
and i noe i need to find something to keep myself on the feet during the job search process..
so i've got some planning to do here...
things I want/need to do:

1. Clear up all my junks and unwanted school materials.. (put up for sale maybe?)
2. volunteer at SPCA
3. Job search of coz..
4. Holiday at Europe
5. prepare for HPLC 2009 participation
6. Tuition
7. Meet up with KBR buddies
8. Gathering with Luna

wad else?

A step away from Uni Life

= A step away towards jobless life

The job market is really bad...
I am not a first class... N we are not given a chance in the big names..
I guess at bad times, some companies arent really bothered about your other "skills" i guess..
everyone's flopping to MOE... even the 2nd upper's
sigh..

The best thing that has happened to me so far is receiving the email from Germany and being called up for another 2 interviews... FINALLY!
Read something on the newspaper on sat..
it's about finding love in our career...
coincidentallly, kee huat asked me to take a step back and think about what I really want to do...
this article probes into this question...

Answers to related questions:
1. Interest: Dogs, food
2. Positive mindset: ya need more self-belief
3. Age: 23... still very young i guess?
4. Transferable skills: is the key in recent employment trends. no more iron rice bowl jobs, not even in govt organizations. need to think about where and how I can apply to my dream job. and what more and how i can further develop.
5. Playing to my strengths: hmm.. this is tricky....

I need opportunities and find skills for me to leap across the boundary.... then i will find an occupation which is both enjoyable and lucrative... need to find how i can follow my passion...

did i write rubbish again? oops
